What cardio machine at the gym is best for losing weight?

Question by ~Tim~: What cardio machine at the gym is best for losing weight?
I know cardio is the most important part of a workout for losing weight, buy which cardio machine is best? My gym has treadmills, elypticals, crosstrainers, and bikes. Which would be the best for general weight loss?

Best answer:

Answer by Belated
Depending on what you are physically able to do almost all the machines are good. Including weight training machines. You need to build muscle to burn fat which helps speed up the metabolism. Which helps tremendously with weight loss. However the best cardio machines are the elliptical and treadmill if you do HIIT on the treadmill. Good luck.

Set Starter Interval Timer Appears on NBC’s “TODAY” Show to Help Viewers “Get in Shape Fast”

CARY, N.C. (PRWEB) January 30, 2013

Workout enthusiasts are increasingly using interval training to improve their fitness. Set Starter’s thumb-size interval timer has started to garner attention from athletes, workout fanatics, and even television morning show superstars. The Set Starter interval timer was recently featured on NBCs TODAY” show with stars Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb in the segment, Five New Gadgets to Help You Get in Shape Fast. View the segment.

The TODAY show feature is the result of a recent interview with SHAPE Magazine in which Set Starter will appear in the March issue. SHAPE Editors Bahar Takhtehchian and Danielle McNally were responsible for selecting five hot workout gadgets to feature on NBCs popular morning show.

With the recent attention, Set Starter Founder Eric DeRosa has seen sales come in from 37 states and 12 countries, including Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Spain, Canada and Great Britain, among others. Set Starter launched in 2012 and retails for $ 29.95 at http://www.setstarter.com.

For the uninitiated, interval training workouts feature intense exercise followed by short periods of rest to build muscle, increase endurance and burn fat. That said, specifically monitoring rest between sets is often ignored in fitness regimens.

DeRosa designed Set Starter to time intervals and monitor rest during weight training, running and cycling workouts. While most timing devices take the form of smartphones, watches, belt-clip timers and music players that encumber workout effectiveness, Set Starter fits on the thumb.

Set Starter is unobtrusive and helps you monitor both intensity and rest in your workout, said DeRosa.

Athletes, personal trainers and fitness bloggers give Set Starter high marks. Stewart Rogers at UsFitties.com put the Set Starter through the paces during high-intensity interval training (HIIT), weightlifting and running workouts.

The Set Starter interval timer is a slick unit that always feels secure and that provides most of your interval timing needs in a very small and useful package, said Rogers. It sure beats having a huge lump of plastic hanging from your waistband or trying to figure out a secure holder for your 4.5 inch long smartphone.

Fitness guru Troy Pesola was among the first to review Set Starter. His thorough analysis at CubeDwellerFitness.com includes video demonstrations of his diverse workouts with a Set Starter.

Ive been digging into the importance of timing rest-recovery intervals when working out. The SetStarter is perfect, he said. This gadget is suited for fat loss through high-intensity interval training. Im convinced. This little device is a gem.

Set Starter is easy to use with one-touch operation. It fits comfortably on a thumb and does not interfere with physical activity. Variable alarm options include vibration, audible beep, and visual LED light to help train workout enthusiasts to avoid glancing at their stopwatch and stay focused.

Suanne Rieker, womens fitness specialist and certified personal fitness trainer, also gives Set Starter high marks, I love the Set Starter. There is no doggin it when it goes off, she said.

Set Starter helps us avoid the habit of constantly looking at our stopwatch during activity to count down time, said DeRosa. We go hard when it indicates to go hard. And, just as important, rest when its time to rest.

Set Starter, LLC is available online at the companys website or Amazon.com for $ 29.95. Users of all fitness levels indicate Set Starter is helpful for workouts such as: walking, running, cycling, weight lifting, soccer and football drills, inline skating, sprint intervals, jump rope, box jumping, martial arts, plyometrics, and most other workouts that feature interval training. Team discounts are available to coaches and organizations dedicated to group wellness and fitness, simply call 919-417-5866 or sales@setstarter.com.
